All hail the party king and queen of House Yamada

And Hailey, party princess-in-training

To Colleen, from Julia —

It suits so well that on the night I met you, you convinced me to go to EDC. Who has that kind of superpower?! What an amazing origin story for our friendship. Because even though we still — 10 years later?! — really like to party (“shooooooootttttsssss”) it’s the kind of friendship I know I can count on when life gets challenging. You’re always there to insert some rational context when I’m emotionally riled up (“ooohhh my blood is boiling”), but you still always make me feel seen when I feel crazy.

To Wes, from Brian —

Wes, you’ve known me for about 3/4ths of my life. That’s a lot of life shared together, and now that we’ve moved to the East bay, I hope that only means we’ll continue sharing more! I really want to thank you for being the one that always brings everyone together. I think a lot of the adventures we have wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for you. We wouldn’t be staying at the baller ass air bnbs, we wouldn’t have all the logistics ironed out, and we definitely wouldn’t be drinking so much. I may not always say it in the most graceful way, but I hope you know I really value your friendship and it is without question that I wanted you standing up there with me on my big day. I remember you standing up for me in grade school when the kids would pick on me cause I was smaller, I remember you getting me my first drink even though I had the ridiculous stipulation of it having to be offered by a hot girl, and I of course remember you always taking me out in SF when I first moved back to NorCal and had a hard time adjusting being away from all my socal friends. Thank you for always being the dependable friend that goes above and beyond. Dependable sober — party wes — not so much :).

To you both, from Brulia —

Thank you two so much for being such an important part of our wedding day! Also for keeping us looking fly in our sunglasses for an early wedding present! Thanks for agreeing to walk down the aisle together again (just like how the first time Brian and I walked down the aisle together was at the YomamasCock wedding). And who can forget the way your guys’ reception entrance to the trap version of Baby Shark brought down the house. It was SO very Wes and Colleen — parents, but make it ratchet.

We might’ve all started out as party friends, but our lives wouldn’t be as rich and full without you both (+Hailey!) in our lives. It has been amazing to see you two become parents, and it gives us hope that all fun is not over once we decide to pop out a kid. Parenthood seems much more doable with this fucking awesome community we’ve got. (Just like a horseback riding injury isn’t so bad with the same fucking awesome friends taking care of us.) Here’s to a forever future together, Party Animals! <3

Thank you again for celebrating with us on this very special day. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Love,
Julia & Brian
