Christine & Iris —

Thanks friends, for coming to celebrate our wedding and for the generous wedding gift! We shoulda known that you would be contributing to our food adventure! (Since it’s very likely we won’t get to go on our honeymoon and all travel will be in a post-Covid world, we really should just go on food adventures together!)

A note from Julia —

I tell Brian all the time, but one of my favorite things about marrying him is the awesome group of people I got to inherit, and then got to become friends with in my own right. I mean, sure, he’s got better robot dance moves than me, but where is that going to come in handy in a friendship? Ok, maybe Coachella. And Vegas. And possibly Troy After Hours. And any place after we’ve all had a couple of drinks. But I digress! My point is that even though we have never lived in the same city, I feel so thankful that our friendship has only grown deeper over time. It’s so hard to do, especially with how much life everyone has going on, and it 100% has to do with how you are both down-ass-friends, so willing to be your true selves, ready for everything from zoom happy hours, tarot card readings, change-your-flight Vegas trips, fancy Napa tastings, and food adventures from the Bay to LA. Your friendship means a lot to the both of us, so cheers to more down-ass-friends adventures in the future!

From Brian:

I remember walking the streets of Paris with Christine and she asked me “so what do you like about Julia?” And at the time, I didn’t really have the vocabulary to describe what was special about her. The words that came to my mind were, well she’s cute and she’s really nice and I remember thinking in my head — wow that’s pretty basic, Brian. It’s easy to look back and see just how naive I was about relationships and how much I’ve grown since then. But that’s the kind of conversations I loved having with Christine. She always had a way of prodding emotions and critical thinking out of me despite my best efforts to resist. Christine has seen me through all of my relationships, been the one I talked endlessly to about the girls I liked, and was someone I could always confide in. I don’t think I say it very often, but I really want to thank you for all of that. Despite it being covid, I’ve really felt the relationship between the 4 of us growing from it. The perspectives you and Iris offer are always so insightful and thoughtful. We love that we can talk to you both about super important topics like proper tv placements and vacuum suction power and real issues that we’re going through. Thank you both for inviting us out to Napa, backing me up in my dance battles at Troy, and being all around awesome friends.

Thank you again for celebrating with us on this very special day. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Love,
Julia & Brian
